Local Wildlife Center Introduces New Monthly Nature Walks with Conservation Expert
The series, titled "Nature Walks with Riley," aims to connect visitors with the region's indigenous flora and fauna through interactive walk-and-talk sessions.
New England Wildlife Center is set to launch an educational nature walk series, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore local wildlife and plant species with expert guidance. The first walk, led by educator and biologist Riley, was led on Wednesday, June 19th. The next nature walk is scheduled for Thursday, July 10th at 10 AM at the Center's Weymouth location. The series, titled "Nature Walks with Riley," aims to connect visitors with the region's indigenous flora and fauna through interactive walk-and-talk sessions. "Learn how to identify native species, pick up conservation tips, and discover the important role they play in our ecosystem," states the New England Wildlife Center's announcement.
Riley, who specializes in entomology, botany, and conservation, will guide participants through the New England Wildlife Center's nature trails, sharing expertise on local ecosystems. The program includes hands-on learning opportunities focusing on native plant identification, conservation practices, and wildlife observation. The series continues with an additional session scheduled for Thursday, August 21st, all running from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. While the event is free to attend, the Center suggests a donation of $10 per participant to support their wildlife education initiatives.
Located at 500 Columbian Street in Weymouth, the New England Wildlife Center welcomes walk-in participants without prior registration. "No need to RSVP," the announcement confirms, directing attendees to "meet us in the main lobby of the hospital at the start of the tour." With limited space available, interested participants are encouraged to arrive when doors open at 10:00 AM.
