This program aims to reduce traffic congestion during the busy tourist season while providing accessible transportation options for everyone.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) has launched an exciting new initiative offering fare-free transportation throughout summer 2025. Beginning June 21st, residents and visitors can enjoy complimentary rides on all fixed-route buses across Cape Cod. This program aims to reduce traffic congestion during the busy tourist season while providing accessible transportation options for everyone.
Serving eight communities including Harwich, Orleans, Provincetown, East Harwich, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Brewster, the service connects major destinations like MacMillan Pier, the National Seashore, downtown Orleans, Nickerson State Park, and Provincetown's city center. The fare-free initiative represents a significant step toward sustainable transportation on Cape Cod, encouraging both locals and tourists to leave their cars behind while exploring the region's beautiful towns and attractions.
