Latest Update: When The New 'Free Play Bar Arcade' is Opening in Taunton
The establishment provides an interesting twist to the traditional arcade experience!
Free Play Bar Arcade, a popular arcade bar, is set to open a new location in Massachusetts very soon! With two existing locations in Providence and Worcester, Free Play Bar Arcade is expanding its footprint, taking over the former Pizzeria Uno's at 904 County Street in Taunton. In a statement from the City of Taunton, Free Play Bar Arcade is described as a 21 and over arcade with a full bar, serving up bar pizza with Karaoke and live band/DJ entertainment on the weekends. The establishment provides an interesting twist to the traditional arcade experience, charging a cover fee for entry but allowing visitors to play all games for free once inside.
The city has shared information about the new location's offerings, stating that the "new Taunton location will have a total of 105 video games including retro games, pinball, Skee-Ball, dancing games and more." The venue will feature an outdoor area that will be enclosed for year-round use near where the entertainment will be performed. The City also shared that Free Play Bar Arcade has plans to reach out to Bristol-Plymouth and Taunton High Schools about planning special events for high school students.
As of January 23rd, 2025, the City of Taunton explained to the community in a social media post that co-owner Anthony Santurri confirmed that significant progress has been made, with games starting to arrive and carpets installed. The establishment has secured their building permit for kitchen construction, and while the journey has taken longer than anticipated, they are aiming to open by the end of February with a grand opening event likely to be scheduled for the first week of March. Operating seven days a week and offering family days on some Saturdays and Sundays, Free Play Bar Arcade is set to be an exciting addition to Taunton's entertainment scene.
