From Tree To Table: You're Invited To This Free Maple Sugaring Demonstration in Taunton

An exciting educational opportunity awaits nature enthusiasts and curious minds alike as the Friends of Boyden prepare to host a fascinating maple sugaring demonstration at the Boyden Wildlife Refuge. The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025, will feature expert Ron Aakjar who will share his knowledge about the time-honored tradition of maple syrup production.
During this hands-on program, participants will discover the rich history behind maple sugaring, learning about its origins and how the process has evolved over time. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the intricate details of tree selection and the importance of proper seasonal timing in the maple sugaring process.
This educational event, generously supported by the Mass Cultural Council, is being offered free of charge to the public, making it an accessible opportunity for all community members to learn about this sweet labor of love. The program will run from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and will proceed regardless of weather conditions, rain or shine.
