In a festive display of community spirit, the City of Quincy is set to usher in the holiday season with its annual Hancock-Adams Common Tree Lighting ceremony. Scheduled for Friday, November 29th, 2024, at 5 PM, this event promises to blend festive traditions with family-friendly fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Kicking off the celebrations are two mesmerizing fire shows at 5:00 PM and 5:45 PM, sure to warm up the crowd. The entertainment continues with a musical performance by National Award Winning Recording Artist Michelle Brooks-Thompson and her band, slated for 6:00 PM to 6:20 PM, promising to fill the air with melodious holiday tunes.
The highlight of the evening, the Tree Lighting Ceremony, is set for 6:30 PM. Mayor Thomas P. Koch, alongside a special guest, will lead the proceedings, culminating in a community-wide holiday sing-along that's bound to stir the holiday spirit in even the most Scrooge-like attendees.
Santa Claus himself will be available for pictures from 6:45 PM to 8:00 PM in the City Hall Lobby. However, families are advised to arrive early, as Santa's sleigh is scheduled to depart at 7:30 PM, presumably to begin preparations for his busiest night of the year.
Mark your calendars for Friday, November 29th, 2024, and the Quincy community at the Hancock-Adams Common for an unforgettable celebration. Whether you're captivated by the fire shows, moved by the musical performances, or excited to meet Santa, this event has something for everyone.
