The City of Quincy is gearing up for an exciting day of family entertainment and educational activities with KidsFest, a free community event scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Hancock-Adams Common. The festival, running from noon to 8:00 PM, promises to deliver "fun, learning, and entertainment" for children of all ages. The Old City Hall Lower Level will host a series of specialized sessions, including LEGO Robotics, Minecraft programming, and Roblox workshops. Additionally, children can explore innovative activities such as building solar cars, drone simulation, and 3D printing. "All designed to engage and inspire kids of every age," according to City. It’s important to note that a lot of these activities require prior registration on the City of Quincy’s website, so be sure to plan ahead.
Live entertainment will take center stage throughout the day, featuring performances by Little Groove, Matt Heaton And The Outside Toys, the Let's Go Flagship Drumline, and the Ginamark Band. Interactive experiences abound with the Curious Creatures exhibit in Old City Hall Main Level, while the Church of the Presidents will host both the Cactushead Puppet Show and the engaging Dinosaurs At Your Door presentations.
Families can also enjoy continuous walk-up activities throughout the day, including an Animal Craze Petting Zoo, caricature art by Designs by Dennis, and virtual reality gaming experiences. The Quincy High School Metal Fabrication Department will showcase student work, while Edge on Science will present "Cool Space Stuff" for aspiring astronomers. For those looking to make a day of it, food vendors will be on site, and an adult beverage area will be available where "parents and grandparents can relax and unwind" while their children explore the festivities.
While many activities are free and open to all, some workshops and shows require advance registration due to limited space. For the complete schedule of events and to register for specific activities, visitors are encouraged to check the City of Quincy's official website at https://www.quincyma.gov/specialevents/kidsfest.php.
