Card Skimmers Discovered at Abington Supermarket
Multiple credit card skimming devices were recently found at Trucchi's Supermarket in Abington.
The Abington Police Department announced on their Facebook page to the community that multiple credit card skimming devices were recently found at Trucchi's Supermarket in Abington. The discovery was made on February 10, 2025, when store management was alerted to suspicious activity after a customer experienced difficulties with their credit card transaction.
Upon investigation, the store manager found not just one, but three skimming devices attached to different credit card machines throughout the store. The compromised machines were identified at registers 3, 7, and 8. The police department immediately documented and collected the devices as evidence.
According to the Abington Police Department, the investigation has escalated to include collaboration with federal and state authorities. The Abington Police Department has enlisted the assistance of the United States Secret Service and the Massachusetts State Police to help investigate this potential credit card fraud scheme.
Authorities are urging customers who recently made purchases at Trucci's in Abington to carefully review their credit card statements for any unauthorized transactions. If suspicious activity is detected, customers are advised to report it immediately.
