Bridge Repair Project Prompts Two-Month Closure in Duxbury
Community members are advised to seek alternative routes during the closure period and to respect all construction barriers for safety reasons.
The Duxbury Beach Reservation has announced that the historic Powder Point Bridge will undergo essential repairs beginning Monday, January 20, 2025. The construction project will result in a complete closure of the bridge for approximately two months, with an expected reopening date of March 31, 2025. During this period, the bridge will be inaccessible to all traffic, including vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.
Duxbury Beach Reservation also informed local residents that the west parking lot off Powder Point Avenue will serve as a staging area for construction materials and equipment. The Department of Public Works (DPW) and the contracted construction team are committed to completing the repairs as efficiently as possible to minimize disruption to the community.
Community members are advised to seek alternative routes during the closure period and to respect all construction barriers for safety reasons. Updates on the construction progress will be available through the Duxbury Beach Reservation.
